Applying exterior paint isn't just about color and aesthetics. It also provides additional protection regardless of the surface you plan to paint your exterior walls on, especially your low walls.
If you are looking for a paint for your painting work on a low wall, we have the product you need: a facade paint formulated from plant resources and scallops, fully compatible for use on low walls.
We have some advice for you to choose the right paint for your low wall: and even if painting a low wall is less technical than considering renovating the facade of your house, it is normal to have questions about painting your surface, whether the wall is made of wood or stone.
Which paint should I choose for a low wall?
Whatever material you plan to paint, it is important to take into account the constraints that must make the paint an asset that promotes the resistance of your wall and, more broadly, of the facades.
Paints play an active role in protecting your wall and the facade of your house, even if this is an aspect that is not taken into account enough.
This is why it is important to choose paint that meets the challenges of outdoor conditions to preserve its condition. Initially, the low wall is exposed to the elements just like a facade, namely rain, humidity, and also the sun's rays.
UV rays, for example, will fade the color of your low wall, whether it's a millstone color or pristine white. Rain and humidity can weaken your low wall or facade if the paint used isn't of sufficient quality. Frost is also a particular condition since it can weaken the paint used if it's not suitable and indirectly your low wall.
As you will have understood, the choice of the product that you are going to use for the renovation of your low wall is essential and there are many paints which are intended for exterior surfaces, whether it is a low wall or the facade of your house.
For your renovation work on your low wall and facades, don't hesitate to combine performance and environmental protection with a paint entirely designed for exterior walls.
Made from scallop shells (rich in calcium carbonate), our paint is designed to meet the climatic challenges necessary for the preservation of a low wall or facades.
Prepare your wall before applying the paint
As with using paint on a traditional wall, preparation is essential to the success of your renovation project. This condition applies to both a low wall and the walls of your facade.
An old or overly exposed wall can generate the appearance of micro-organisms (moss or even mold). These residues will have to be eliminated with a fungicide treatment, a stripper and by brushing. A wall also requires a certain maintenance and if its condition is not sufficient, it is not uncommon to find traces of peeling paint that will have to be treated with a stripper before reapplying the paint.
On a garden wall, for example, there are two very distinct areas to consider: the base in contact with the ground, earth or gravel, and the vertical parts which are exposed to UV rays and which can lead to deterioration of the color.
A wall with untreated, peeling paint can compromise the protection of the paint you're going to use. Finally, cracks and chips are common hazards on exterior cladding, whether it's the facade wall or the walls. To solve this problem, consider using filler on the damaged part of the wall to restore the paint to a sound foundation.
The lower part of your wall, and more specifically the base, needs to be monitored and also painted. Indeed, the base of the wall is directly connected to the ground, which can cause moisture to infiltrate your wall and therefore increase premature wear and tear on the wall and damage its protection.
To successfully apply paint to your wall on vertical surfaces, use a long-fiber roller and work in delimited areas to avoid any roller marks.
How much does it cost to paint a wall or facade?
As mentioned earlier, the price is specific to each paint brand offering a product applicable to an exterior surface. Price is very often the key argument for choosing the paint that will be used on your wall or facade.
The facade paint we offer is sold at a minimum price of €10 per liter, depending on the packaging you choose. While the shades in our selection aren't based on the RAL color chart, we offer around ten colors corresponding to the standard colors used on low walls and facades.
We offer our products for delivery throughout France with a custom tinting service.
Please note that our range of facade paints only exists in a matte finish, corresponding to the standard uses of an exterior paint.
