Algo adhérent et partenaire de l’A.R.Q.E. !

Algo member and partner of ARQE!

Algo® is proud to join the RQE (Association Recherche Qualité Environnementale) association. Created in 2014, this association defends values shared by our company. It is therefore only natural that Algo Paint® wanted to promote and highlight this association in favor of a more CSR approach.

An association for the benefit of the environment in the construction sector

The RQE association currently regroups around twenty professions And more than 30 companies including Algo Paint®.

The association places sustainable development at the heart of its project and encourages all of its stakeholders to make environmental protection their priority.

At the heart of the environmental problem, the ARQE is based on the RQE label created in 2017 .

This label , governed by a 12-point charter based on 5 pillars allows to apply a CSR approach specific to the building which in its approach is generally a sector consuming fossil energy.

The 5 pillars of the label are as follows:

  1. Preserve the capital of men,
  2. Reduce the risks of pollution,
  3. Reduce, manage and recover waste,
  4. Promote energy savings
  5. Generate wealth

" When calculating our various carbon footprints, carried out by CARBONE 4 with the help of ADEME, it appeared that more than 50% of the carbon impact of construction sites lies in the inputs item. It is therefore appropriate for our members to modify their purchasing policy, by seeking sources of suppliers offering them lower carbon products."

Stéphane CARMINE - President of ARQE

Our range of bio-sourced paint based on algae, Algo Pro®, falls squarely within these 5 pillars, which are for us real values that we defend on a daily basis.

"The RQE approach has enabled us to gain access to new clients, attracted by the environmental dimension of the service offered. But above all, involvement in CSR has a major impact on performance (...) in particular on the social climate, staff mobilization, and the company's image."

ARQE, a meaningful partner

Determined to offer a fairer and more responsible way of life to future generations, Algo® fits perfectly with the ARQE approach

Indeed, the Algo® concept meets all the pillars defined by the RQE label through actions that allow us to defend our values.

Short circuit, renewable raw material, SME flexibility, taste for innovation, taxes paid in France, product quality, respect for values, dynamism, etc.

Algo presents all the qualities that are dear to our association and essential to be an active member, by offering solutions to reduce the impact of construction sites, then bringing project owners towards carbon neutrality.

Stéphane CARMINE - President of ARQE

By promoting local and renewable resources such as algae from the Breton coast, Algo® preserves human capital . The algae used in our paints do not encroach on land reserves intended to feed human beings and, above all, do not require fresh water for their treatment.

The use of bio-sourced raw materials reduces the risk of pollution since Algo paints are completely free from resources derived from petroleum chemistry.

Algo paint application releases less than one gram of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) per liter, allowing it to be certified A+ in terms of indoor air emissions.

Algo paint works to preserve indoor air, aiming to reduce pollution.

The algae used in our paints are fully recycled . Used in cosmetics and food, algae are known for the oil they contain.

Algo® therefore uses a co-product in its production, which has not been used until now and which allows us to recycle waste in our paints.

By freeing ourselves from resources derived from petroleum chemistry, we are promoting significant energy savings on our scale: since the creation of the Algo® concept, 895 tons of fossil fuels have been replaced and 1,421 tons of VOCs have been replaced. This makes Algo an environmentally friendly paint and, above all, one that allows the end user to save on fossil fuels.

In 2018, the ARQE contributed, among other things, to the planting of 45,385 Acacia and Eucalyptus trees in Madagascar as well as to the development of 6 impact-reducing innovations in favor of the environment.

On the way to new projects in 2020…
